A brief biographical
sketch
Alessandro AGNETIS was born
in Rome in 1963,
and graduated in Electrical Engineering from the Universita' degli
Studi
di Roma "La Sapienza" in 1987. He got a PhD in Systems Engineering
from
the same University in 1992, where he became Assistant Professor of
Industrial
Automation in 1994. In November 1998 he joined the Università
di
Siena as Associate Professor of Operations
Research (Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell'Informazione).
He is Full Professor since 2001.
He took part in the National Research Project on Innovative Production
Systems,
promoted by the Italian Ministry of Education. His main research
interests
concern combinatorial optimization models for planning and scheduling
problems,
with applications in manufacturing and logistics. He published over 30
papers
on international journals, including Operations Research,
Management Science, Discrete Applied Mathematics, European
Journal of Operational
Research, Information Processing Letters, IEEE
Transactions
on Robotics and Automation. He is member of CIRO and AIRO.
