I was born in Florence on March 26, 1970. I received my MS (Laurea) degree in Electronic Engineering in 1993 and my PhD degree in Control Engineering in 1997 from the University of Florence, Italy. During the academic year 1996/97 I visited the Center for Robotics and Automation, Department of Systems Science and Mathematics, Washington University, St.Louis, MO. In 1997-1999, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Automatic Control Laboratory, ETH Zürich, Switzerland, where I collaborated as a senior researcher until 2002. Between 1999 and 2009 I was with the University of Siena, Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell'Informazione, where I became an associate professor in 2005. Since 2010, I am an associate professor at the University of Trento. Main research interests: hybrid systems, model predictive control, optimization, automotive control, financial engineering, polyhedral computation, wireless sensor networks, robotics. IEEE
