If the applet does not start you need to download an appropriate Java 2 plugin for your web browser. Try at: Java Sun Home Page

We believe that neural information (combined with classical symbolic technics) can outperform symbolic algorithmic heuristics mantaining solution optimality very close to 100%. We present here a simple version of the application with which we generated, trained and tested neural heuristics. This applet can give an intuitive taste of this idea. Just be carefull, 15-tile and 24-tile puzzles are really difficult and could take minutes/hours/… to be solved.

If you encounter problems in viewing the applet (it could take a while, there are 85K of java classes) you may have to download a newer Java 2 Plugin for your web browser. Try at Java Home Page: http://java.sun.com.
