Giambene is Associate Professor for the master level ("Laurea Magistrale") course "Networking" at the DIISM Dept. of the University of Siena.

This course (6 cfu, about 48 teaching hours), which will be given in English, has the following syllabus:
ISO/OSI reference model; Multiplexing (plesiochronous and isochronous networks); Historical notes and geographic networks like X.25, ISDN, frame relay, ATM, and SONET/SDH; MPLS networks, Traffic management for QoS support; Traffic shaping and policing; Survey on Markov chains and M/M/... queues;  M/G/1 queuing theory (embedded Markov chains); Markovian models for the analysis of MAC layer in local wireless networks; IP routing; IntServ and DiffServ; Flow control & congestion control and the TCP protocol; Network of queues; Matlab examples for typical teletraffic problems.

Midterm, final report, and exam registrations are via segreteria online.
