Gian-Luca Mariottini is a Post-Doctoral fellow at the MARS Lab with Prof. Stergios Roumeliotis (Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Minnesota).
Gian-Luca Mariottini obtained his Ph.D degree from the University of Siena, Department of Engineering Information at the under the supervision of Prof. Domenico Prattichizzo. He is affiliated with the System and Control Group and with the Siena Robotics and System Lab (SIRSLab). From January to June 2007 he was a Visiting Scientist at the GRASP Lab (CIS Department, UPENN,USA) under the supervision of Prof.Kostas Daniilidis. From December 2007 until September 30th 2008, Gian-Luca was working on a one-year appointment on the SWAN project (in collaboration with Prof.Frank Dellaert and Prof. Bruce Walker, Georgia Tech).
His research focuses on control theory and computer science and in particular, vision-based control with applications to mobile robots and multirobot formations, panoramic cameras and robot localization, human-machine interfaces for medical applications and image-based solutions for companies.
